ADI's ADZS-SC584 and ADZS-SC589 evaluation systems are designed to help designers develop and test the ADSP-SC584 and ADSP-SC589 SHARC (r) processors. The ADSP-SC58x processor series is based on ADI's SHARC + core and DSP accelerator. It has an ARM (r) Cortex-A5 (tm) processor and FPU and Neon (r) DSP extensions. It can handle other real-time processing tasks and manage peripheral devices. Time-critical data interfaces in audio, industrial sensing applications, and industrial closed-loop control that require high floating-point performance. The ADZS-SC584 evaluation system includes ADZS-SC584 EZ-Board (r) and ADZS-SC584 EZ-KIT Lite (r), and the ADZS-SC589 evaluation system has ADZS-SC589 EZ-Board and ADZS-SC589 EZ-Kit Lite. The ADZS-SC58x evaluation system from Mouser Electronics has many features, but differs in several ways. For example, the SC-589 processor has two 16-bit L3 ports, each port has 2Gbit DDR3 memory (total 4Gbit), while the SC-584 processor includes a 16-bit L3 port, with 2Gbit DDR2 memory. For complete product descriptions, visit the ADZS-SC58x Evaluation System website. The ADZS-SC58xEZ-KIT Lite software package includes two 180-day CrossCore (r) Embedded Studio (CCES) and ICE-1000 emulator licenses. This emulator is used in conjunction with CCES to provide the latest support for all JTAG-compliant Analog Devices processors using ARM's CoreSight (tm). The CCES development environment helps designers with advanced application code development and debugging capabilities. Designers who already have an ICE-1000 or ICE-2000 emulator can choose the ADZS-SC584 EZ-Board. The ADZS-SC58x EZ-Board includes the hardware required to begin evaluating the ADSP-SC58x SHARC processors, but does not include an emulator. The company states that the ADZS-SC58x EZ-Board kit includes a separate evaluation board, CE-certified power supply, and USB cable.
