The RT8251 is a single chip step-down switching mode converter with a built-in internal power MOSFET. Available in WQFN-16L 3x3 and SOP-8(Exposed pad) packs. It achieves 5A continuous output current over a wide input power range with excellent load and line regulation. Current-mode operation provides fast transient response and simplified loop stability.

RT8251 has protection functions such as cycle current limiting and hot shutdown. In off mode, the regulator draws 25μA of the supply current. Programmable soft start minimizes shock power current and output overshoot at initial start. The RT8251 has minimal requirements for external components.
