The 176-layer QLC NAND SSD has been mass-produced and shipped by Micron. The NAND architecture is utilized in this solution and is the most advanced adopted. Provides the industry's highest storage density and optimized performance for a variety of data-rich applications. Use cases across client and data center environments are the goal, and its transformative new NAND technology now delivers this 2400 SSD, 176-tier PCIe Gen4 QLC SSD client application. The new device will also be included in selected Meguiar key consumer SSDS and made available as a component to system designers.
The previous generation solution is also owned by the company as a comparison with this solution. The device provides 33% higher I / O speed and 24% lower read latency. Its alternative gate structure is considered to be the only mass production QLC flash memory that combines charge trap with CMOS array design.
Jeremy Werner, vice president and general manager of storage division of micron, said: "micron technology 2400 SSD is based on our 176 layer NAND industry leadership to promote the transition from customer market to QLC based storage "To further enhance our market leadership, we expect that the new 2400 PCIe gen4 SSD will greatly accelerate the adoption of QLC in client devices because it provides a wider range of design options and more affordable capacity."
