Danisense has released a "smart version" of a multifunctional residual current monitor (RCM). The new SRCMH070IB+ model provides a USB connection that allows detailed analysis of residual current via a PC using Windows software. In addition to the oscilloscope function, FFT analysis is also possible.

New SRCM model with residual current range; residual current FFT; TRMS in frequency range; remote setting of nominal RC limits, frequency range and integration time; changing settings from PC; TRMS log, relay status log, data export. Automatic settings will suggest an appropriate frequency range and integration time

Used to monitor residual current in production machinery or data centers without the need for rapid system shutdowns, the B/B+ SRCM device measures residual current at frequencies up to 100kHz DC and AC 2Arms, making it ideal for a wide range of industrial applications, non-linear loads and Renewable energy and other power generation sources. In particular, this product complies with the latest standard IEC62020-1. It shows that there is no need for regular on-site inspection of insulation resistance, and it can be used for remote monitoring.

"We can now see that residual current monitors are no longer just connected to traditional energy measurement devices," commented Roland Buerger, Business Development Engineer at Danisense. The future monitoring work will be done by PLC. Thus, the leakage current associated with the system can be related to the respective state of the plant. In this way, the true fault current can be detected more accurately and reliably."
