Multi-cell battery stack monitor

Technology Cover
投稿日: 2023-04-08, Linear Technology

The LTC6811 is a multi-cell stack monitor that measures up to 12 cells connected in series with a total measurement error of less than 1.2mV. The 0V to 5V battery measurement range makes the LTC6811 suitable for most battery chemicals. All 12 units can be measured in 290µs, and low data acquisition rates can be selected for high noise reduction. Multiple LTC6811 devices can be connected in series, allowing simultaneous monitoring of long, high-voltage battery packs.

Each LTC6811 has an isoSPI interface for high speed, rf immunity, and telecommunication. With LTC6811-1, multiple devices are connected in a Daisy chain, all with a host processor attached. With LTC6811-2, multiple devices are connected to the host processor in parallel, each addressed separately.

The LTC6811 can be powered directly from the battery pack or from an isolated power supply. The LTC6811 includes passive balancing for each unit, each with a separate PWM duty ratio control. Additional features include onboard 5V regulators, five universal I/O cables and a sleep mode where current consumption is reduced to 4µa.
