Industrial applications, such as welding robots, high-frequency amplifiers, machine tools, and electrolytic cells, which often need to work in harsh environments, all require a power source to provide high power without ventilation. In this case, if the power supply uses conduction cooling, this requires the design of the power supply not only to ensure high performance, but also to eliminate thermal effects. In addition, the industrial equipment can be used worldwide, and the power supply voltage is 200V to 400VAC. In order to reduce single-phase peak load and optimize load balance on their network, system architects favored a three-phase solution, so COSEL's three-phase input HCA3500TF was created.

                                   

To this end, COSEL announced the introduction of a AC/DC three-phase input enclosed power supply HCA3500TF, with a power of 3500W, mainly used in high frequency amplifiers, laser processing machines and robots and other industrial equipment. Its input voltage is suitable for global, three-phase triangle or three-phase star networks, and the input voltage range is 180V to 528VAC. The power supply uses the latest energy optimizations, digital control topologies, and wide-band gap (WBG) semiconductor devices to achieve an astounding 94% efficiency at 400VAC input.

It has two output voltages, 48VDC and 65VDC, and can be adjusted in the positive 15% and negative 50% range using the fine tuning function. It is only 65mm thick, compact with a lid (1.5U), and comes with an aluminum plate for conductive cooling of the auxiliary cooling element, similar to a cold wall or water cooled bottom plate. For applications requiring higher power, it can also be used in parallel, up to 10 units in parallel, with a power of 31.5kW.

                                             

The HCA3500TF has an input voltage range of 180 to 528VAC and is available in two different output voltages:48VDC/73A, you can use the built-in potentiometer to adjust the output voltage from 33.6V to 55.2VDC; You can adjust the output voltage from 24V to 55.2VDC and 65VDC/54A, and you can adjust the output voltage from 45.5V to 74.75VDC and 32.5V to 74.75VDC. In standard conditions, the output power is 3.5kW.

In addition to the main output, the HCA3500TF includes a 12VDC/1A auxiliary output that can be used for remote on/off or control circuits external to it. The auxiliary output is isolated from input, output, and functional grounding. At the same time, to ensure high efficiency and thermal stability, the HCA3500TF uses the optimal digitally controlled switching topology and power grade silicon carbide (SiC) MOS tubes and diodes, achieving an efficiency of 94% at 400VAC input and 65VDC output.

HCA3500TF also comes with a surge current limiting circuit, overcurrent and overvoltage protection, and thermal protection. The power supply is versatile and robust and can operate at ambient temperatures from -10 to +70 ° C and substrate temperatures from 0 to +55 ° C. The output rating may be reduced depending on the final device assembly method and cooling conditions. Designed for 1.5U height integrated industrial applications, the dimensions are 110 x 65 x 420mm [4.3 x 2.6 x 16.5 in] (width x height x depth) with a maximum weight of 5kg.

To integrate the system and reduce conducted noise, HCA3500TF comes with an input filter conforming to FCC Part15 class A, VCCI class A, CISPR11 class A, CISPR32 class A, EN55011-A and EN55032-A. The input-output isolation voltage of HCA3500TF is 4243VAC, input-to-ground (FG) 2829VAC, and output-to-ground (FG) 2000VAC. According to IEC62368-1, maximum leakage current of 3mA at rated load and input of 480VAC/60Hz.

The HCA3500TF has a wide range of applications, including measurement and analysis equipment, machine tools, semiconductor manufacturing equipment, and the 65VDC output version is ideal for radio frequency power amplifiers (RFPA) and 60V lithium-ion battery chargers.
