Silicon Labs' SLWSTK62xx EZR32 wireless starter kit provides a complete development platform for Silicon Labs EZR32LG and EZR32WG wireless microcontrollers (MCUs). This starter kit contains sensors and peripherals to demonstrate many of the wireless and low power capabilities of the EZR32 wireless MCU. This kit provides all the necessary tools for developing wireless applications using the Silicon Labs EZR32 wireless MCU series. Each kit has two WSTK evaluation boards with EZR32LG or EZR32WG wireless MCUs based on ARM Cortex M3 or Cortex M4 core. Each MCU has 256 KB of flash memory, 32 KB of RAM, and a rich set of peripherals. The wireless MCU also has an on-chip 802.15.4g transceiver that supports a frequency range of 142MHz to 1050MHz and has output power up to +20 dBm. The AES accelerator supports AES encryption and decryption using 128-bit or 256-bit keys. The EZR32 wireless MCU supports ultra-low-power sleep modes and low transmit and receive current for ultra-low-power battery-powered applications. The EZR32 wireless starter kit includes a motherboard and a radio board. The radio board has a Micro B USB connector for system connection and an SMA connector for use with external antennas. The evaluation board also has a 33mF backup capacitor that powers the EZR32 MCU for eight hours or more in 400nA standby mode to maintain the contents of the backup register and power the backup real-time counter. The motherboard includes an industry-standard J-Link debugger, and all its features are available via Ethernet or USB. The motherboard also includes an ultra-low power 128 × 128 LCD display, two buttons, two LEDs for user interaction and a Silicon Labs Si7021 relative humidity and temperature sensor. Silicon Labs' Advanced Energy Monitor (AEM) software provides real-time charting and analysis of EZR32 energy usage. The kit can be powered by an on-board voltage regulator with Silicon Labs' AEM via a USB connector on the radio board, a CR2032 coin-cell battery, or an external power source.
