TDK introduced more compact EPCOS B72307S0 (StandarD S07 compact series) and B72310S0 (StandarD S10 compact series) series lead type chip varistors. The coverage voltage range of the new StandarD S07 compact series and StandarD S10 compact series components is 115 VRMS to 460 VRMS and 130 VRMS to 680 VRMS respectively. The maximum impact current capacity of the single pulse current (8/20 µ s) is up to 1200 A and 2500 A respectively. The multiple impact current that can be withstood is 500 A and 1500 A respectively, meeting the certification requirements of UL 1449, the fourth edition, type 5 components. In addition, varistors can operate without derating at ambient temperatures up to 105 ° C.

Like the mature models of the classic StandarD S07 and S10 series, the optimized new model has the same outstanding performance and long-term reliability, and its diameter is smaller. The diameter of the StandarD S07 compact series is only 8.5 mm, while the diameter of the StandarD S10 compact series is 11 mm, which makes it more flexible to use. The new element also has a synthetic resin coating with a flame retardant rating of UL 94 V-0. In addition, SIOV varistors are also UL, CSA, VDE and IEC certified.

All products of StandarD S07 compact series and StandarD S10 compact series support PSpice modeling. The optimized compact design and excellent electrical characteristics make the StandarD S07 compact series and StandarD S10 compact series products widely applicable to LED lighting, switching power supply, household appliances (such as microwave ovens and refrigerators) and other applications, and can save board space.
