The BQ500511 of Texas Instruments is a wireless power transmitter controller. When combined with the BQ50002 analog front-end device, it integrates all the work required to create a qi compatible or proprietary 5v transmitter. The BQ500511 and BQ50002 together provide a compact wireless charger solution. BQ500511 pings the surrounding environment for the receiving equipment to be powered, safely connects the equipment, receives the packet communication from the powered equipment, and manages the power transmission according to the WPC v1.2 specification.

The system supports external object detection (FOD), and prevents power loss due to dislocation of metal objects in the field of wireless power transmission by continuously monitoring the efficiency of established power transmission. If any abnormal condition occurs during power transfer, bq500511 handles the condition and provides an indication output. Comprehensive state and fault monitoring functions make it possible to design a low-cost but robust wireless power system with qi authentication.

To maximize the flexibility of wireless power control applications, the BQ500511 is packaged in a heat enhanced 6 mm x 6 mm, 40 pin VQFN package. Dynamic Power Limiting (DPL) is also used. DPL enhances the user experience by seamlessly optimizing the power use of limited input power.
